-Jon Butcher SOLO/ Two Roads East Tour- a JON BUTCHER solo tour kicks off @ CHAN's Concert Club in Woonsocket RI on FEB 2. The tour, 'TWO ROADS EAST' is the first such tour Jon has done since the 2005's BAREFOOT SERVANTS acoustic tour w/ guitarist BEN SCHULTZ. The concerts will feature a mix of Jon Butcher material from both JBA albums, Jon's solo work on Capitol Records and Blue Bureau as well as BAREFOOT SERVANTS. Additionally the Two Roads East shows will feature music from Jon's film and series tv work as well as special guests throughout the length of the tour. The CHAN's show will guest feature FLY AMERO [ORLEANS] and MARTY RICHARDS [J GEILS BAND].

The 2012 show featured Jon, actor/ comedian LENNY CLARK, guitarist GARY HOEY, CHARLIE FARREN and a host of high octane talent in conjunction with GREG KRETSCHMAR and WHEB 100.3 FM .

-12/12 Jon Butcher/ Fly Amero, Live @ The Rhumb Line- Jon sat in w/ Orleans guitarist/ singer/ songwriter FLY AMERO @ the world-famouss Rhumb Line in Gloucester MA to a sold-out crowd of local artists, musicians and Gloucester 'High Society' including ALLEN ESTES and FLY's brother, JB AMERO.

-12/7 Robert Cray/ Jon Butcher BLUE OCEAN Music Hall concert- sold out-  Jon appeared w/ blues legend and long time friend ROBERT CRAY at THE BLUE OCEAN MUSIC HALL to a sold out house. Jon opened the show SOLO with acoustic versions of HOLY WAR and the Barefoot Servants track, BOUND FOR GLORY as well as the FARREN BUTCHER Inc version of RAILROAD LINE.

-12/3 The American Revolution/ WBCN- On Dec. 3, legendary folk and rock music artists gathered at Boston's House of Blues to perform in support of "The American Revolution," the new documentary film that tells the story of "how a radio station, politics and rock and roll changed everything.", the story of WBCN Boston. The one-night event featured concert performances by:  BILLY SQUIER, AL KOOPER, JON BUTCHER, TOM RUSH, former members of the band BOSTON, LIVINGSTON and KATE TAYLOR, JONATHAN EDWARDS, JOHN POUSETTE-DART, ROBIN LANE, JOHNNY A, CHARLIE FARREN, THE UPTOWN HORNS, DAVID HULL, WILLIE 'LOCO' ALEXANDER, JAMES MONTGOMERY and a special MC appearance by CHARLES 'THE MASTER BLASTER' DANIELS. In addition to the movie there is a planned concert film vid and book of the evening featuring the photography of Barry Schneier, Matthew Muise, Michael Sparks Keegan, Peter Simon, Renata Greene, Rocco Coviello, Ron Pownall, and Walter Mulligan.

-12/1 Guitar Talk Radio @ Berklee - Jon and CHARLIE FARREN co-hosted the VICTOR WOOTEN/ STEPHEN PERKINS concert/ clinic event at the Berklee Performance Center in Boston MA on 12/1. The all-day event also featured; GIL SHARONE, ERIC HARLAND, JOSH DOYLE and Berklee alumni and guitarist for the Boston Pops, JON FIN.  Jon Butcher and Charlie Farren, in their respective roles as hosts of the syndicated radio show GUITAR TALK RADIO entertained those in attendance with music, music history and performance technique throughout. The event was produced by HIRSH GARDNER and BRIAN BERMAN on behalf of GUITAR CENTER.

The DVD release the film will also debut along the same timeline. The release of the new FARREN BUTCHER,INC. CD by Jon and Charlie Farren titled FBI. The CD was recorded at Farrens' FMansion Studios in Chelmsford MA about 35 min from downtown Boston. It presents 11 songs, two of which were hits from each of their early rock days- EAST COAST WEST COAST, written by Charlie for the Joe Perry Project and NEW MAN by the Jon Butcher Axis. Both songs are quintessential power trio rock, and they've each received a vigorous and high-octane makeover. 

But the CD really shines in its 9 new songs. I Believe In You, Deja Blue, Rolling and Soul Mate all speak of loss and rebirth, a recurrent theme within the CD. Also included is the blues based Mule Driver and Railroad Line providing a ballast and show off the pairs true roots to full effect. The recordings are hi-def and Jon Butcher’s guitar work is crisp, soulful and recalls Jeff Beck’s quirky articulation.

Jon explains "  Here we are, several years down the road and in a world turned upside down in many ways. There’s a lot of anxiety about the future. FBI is trying to articulate those feelings in a focused but hopeful way."

FBI launches its debut album, media campaign and tour schedule which kicks off in Boston MA. After a 5-mos recording schedule Jon and Charlie Farren release their debut Cd, FBI [FarrenButcher, Inc.] to the world. The new Cd is more than the sum of its parts, the result of two separate music careers spanning almost two decades. Recorded at the palatial FMansion Studios, FBI will feature songs co-written by Jon and Charlie and two songs – New Man, East Coast West Coast which were hits for the songwriters at the beginning of their respective careers. The new hit series SHAMELESS debuted this month on the Showtime network to great reviews with music furnished by Jon Butcher. Featuring William H. Macy, Justin Chatwin and Joan Cusack the series follows the adventures of the Gallagher family headed by proud single dad Frank Gallagher [Macy] and his six smart, spirited and independent kids who without him would be... perhaps better off. The brilliant William H. Macy and Emmy Rossum are wildly engaging and the first episode more than lives up to it's edgy premise. Check your local listings for times, don't miss this one.In other JB/TV news you'll want to check out another quirky Showtime Original series, United States of Tara starring Emmy Award winner Toni Collette and executive produced by Steven Spielberg. Also featuring Jon Butcher music the series tells the story of suburban housewife and mother Tara Gregson [Tony Collette] who juggles her family and career while suffering from Dissociative Identity Disorder – a condition formerly known as multiple personality disorder. It's never a dull moment in the Gregson household, as Tara's supportive husband Max and their two teenaged children, Kate and Marshall, try to lead as much of a "normal" life as possible. And speaking of JB music in video games, check out The Sopranos: Road to Respect video game based on the HBO series The Sopranos which aired from 1999 to 2008. Though the video game was released in November 2006 it remains a huge seller for Sony Entertainment. The game's storyline takes place between the fifth and sixth seasons and centers around Big Pussy Bonpensiero's illegitimate son, Joey LaRocca, as he makes his way through the family business. We loved the Sopranos series during it's run and the video game is, well... fugetaboutit. Culinary fans jump back!
