The focus of the 70min doc will be all things Farren Butcher Inc- tour and recording history, upcoming and ongoing projects including the nationally syndicated broadcast Guitar Talk Radio which will feature Jon Butcher and Charlie Farren as co-hosts. "Our show is a fast-paced and personality driven, fun take on the music gear business and will feature big name guitarists like Keith Richards, Joe Perry, Eric Clapton, actors like Richard Gere and Johnny Depp and other celebrities as guests who are touring, releasing new books etc." says Jon Butcher " this is going to be BIG TIME."

- 9/17 The Freedom Rally on the Boston Common featured Farren Butcher Incorporated with John Muzzy, Jon Butcher, Joe Holaday and the irascible Charlie Farren. The concert for the 4,000 attendees left no one unsatisfied as the band rocked their hits old and new, including those from the new Cd- yowsa !

- 10/1 FBI @ Franktoberfest ! Charlie Farren and Jon Butcher rocked Holman Stadium in rare form for the 2011 Franktoberfest Celebration in conjunction with 106.3 FRANK FM. US Guitar Kits, Inc and Scott Dixon awarded one of their fine kit based acoustic guitars to a lucky winner and the crowd in attendance were treated to a rare duo performance by FBI 'live' !

- 5/1 Farren Butcher INC and KOMPOZ in Collaboration Contest ! Roger McGuinn did it. Rudy Sarzo did it. Now Charlie Farren, and Jon Butcher have sent KOMPOZ original studio guitar tracks from East Coast West Coast featured on the FBI Cd. Hundreds of entrants in turn sent their own recorded 'spin' on the song and the results were fun, hysterical and profitable for the lucky contest winner ! Charlie says, " This was a great time all around with some incredibly clever and original music choices and some amazing prizes from PreSonus, CakeWalk, and of course Kompoz. http://www.lowellsun.com/lifestyles/ci_17551212 FARREN BUTCHER, INC aka Jon and partner Charlie Farrren begin work on their FBI film documentary on 3/25 with producer Calvin Berry. Performance portions of the project are scheduled to be shot at The Palace Theater in Manchester NH.

The release of the new FARREN BUTCHER,INC. CD by Jon and Charlie Farren titled FBI. The CD was recorded at Farrens' FMansion Studios in Chelmsford MA about 35 min from downtown Boston. It presents 11 songs, two of which were hits from each of their early rock days- EAST COAST WEST COAST, written by Charlie for the Joe Perry Project and NEW MAN by the Jon Butcher Axis. Both songs are quintessential power trio rock, and they've each received a vigorous and high-octane makeover. 

But the CD really shines in its 9 new songs. I Believe In You, Deja Blue, Rolling and Soul Mate all speak of loss and rebirth, a recurrent theme within the CD. Also included is the blues based Mule Driver and Railroad Line providing a ballast and show off the pairs true roots to full effect. The recordings are hi-def and Jon Butcher’s guitar work is crisp, soulful and recalls Jeff Beck’s quirky articulation.

Jon explains "  Here we are, several years down the road and in a world turned upside down in many ways. There’s a lot of anxiety about the future. FBI is trying to articulate those feelings in a focused but hopeful way."

FBI launches its debut album, media campaign and tour schedule which kicks off in Boston MA. After a 5-mos recording schedule Jon and Charlie Farren release their debut Cd, FBI [FarrenButcher, Inc.] to the world. The new Cd is more than the sum of its parts, the result of two separate music careers spanning almost two decades. Recorded at the palatial FMansion Studios, FBI will feature songs co-written by Jon and Charlie and two songs – New Man, East Coast West Coast which were hits for the songwriters at the beginning of their respective careers. Watch for the new FBI Cd at your favorite music outlet in March.

The new hit series SHAMELESS debuted this month on the Showtime network to great reviews with music furnished by Jon Butcher. Featuring William H. Macy, Justin Chatwin and Joan Cusack the series follows the adventures of the Gallagher family headed by proud single dad Frank Gallagher [Macy] and his six smart, spirited and independent kids who without him would be... perhaps better off. The brilliant William H. Macy and Emmy Rossum are wildly engaging and the first episode more than lives up to it's edgy premise. Check your local listings for times, don't miss this one.In other JB/TV news you'll want to check out another quirky Showtime Original series, United States of Tara starring Emmy Award winner Toni Collette and executive produced by Steven Spielberg. Also featuring Jon Butcher music the series tells the story of suburban housewife and mother Tara Gregson [Tony Collette] who juggles her family and career while suffering from Dissociative Identity Disorder – a condition formerly known as multiple personality disorder. It's never a dull moment in the Gregson household, as Tara's supportive husband Max and their two teenaged children, Kate and Marshall, try to lead as much of a "normal" life as possible. Watch for the wildly popular PlayStation III and Wii video game release featuring original music by Jon Butcher and crew. Cars is another in a series of video game releases byTHQ based on the animated hit movie of the same name. We haven't seen the in-game play yet [we often get a preview prior to release] but we hear it's crazy kooky nutty. And speaking of JB music in video games, check out The Sopranos: Road to Respect video game based on the HBO series The Sopranos which aired from 1999 to 2008. Though the video game was released in November 2006 it remains a huge seller for Sony Entertainment. The game's storyline takes place between the fifth and sixth seasons and centers around Big Pussy Bonpensiero's illegitimate son, Joey LaRocca, as he makes his way through the family business. We loved the Sopranos series during it's run and the video game is, well... fugetaboutit. Culinary fans jump back! Welcome to the 3rd printing of Food That Rocks, a celebrity cook book written by Cindy Coverdale featuring a whiz bang dish by our hero, Gaggies White Potato Pie .
